Creating Clarity Across Urban Development

By & Havn is responsible for some of Copenhagen’s largest urban development and harbour projects, spanning Ørestad, Nordhavn, Copenhagen Harbour, leasing operations, parking infrastructure, and port management activities. As the organisation expanded across multiple initiatives and public-facing platforms, the need emerged for a more unified and clearly articulated identity system.

The challenge was to bring together highly diverse activities, stakeholders, and communication needs within one coherent visual framework.

Unifying Complex Structures

LOOP Associates developed a comprehensive identity system designed to create alignment across the organisation’s many entities and initiatives. The work included visual identities and design systems for By & Havn, Ørestad, CPH Port, and Nordhavn – each connected through a shared strategic foundation while maintaining their own recognisable characteristics.

The identity framework translated geographic context, urban ambitions, and organisational values into a scalable visual language capable of functioning across both public communication and operational platforms.
