Modernising a Nordic Financial Institution
As Danske Bank expanded beyond Scandinavia into new international markets, the bank faced increasing demands for a more contemporary and digitally aligned corporate identity. The existing visual system had originally been developed for a regional context and no longer reflected the scale, complexity, or digital ambitions of the organisation.
The challenge was to modernise the identity while maintaining the trust, clarity, and recognisability expected from one of the Nordic region’s largest financial institutions.



Building Consistency Across Markets
LOOP Associates developed a comprehensive visual system designed to unify Danske Bank’s presence across markets, platforms, and communication channels. The work focused on creating a more contemporary expression while balancing professionalism with accessibility.
The project included the development of:
- updated corporate guidelines
- a flexible template system across digital and physical media
- custom corporate typographies
- new photographic principles
- standards for icons, graphics, and visual communication
The framework was designed to simplify implementation while ensuring consistency across a rapidly evolving digital landscape.

Designed for Digital Scale
The new identity system established clearer standards for cross-platform communication and created stronger alignment between traditional brand guidelines and emerging digital touchpoints.
Rather than functioning as a static visual update, the system supported continuous adaptation across campaigns, interfaces, internal communication, and international markets.
This strengthened brand recognition while creating greater efficiency and consistency across the organisation’s communication ecosystem.
A Unified European Presence
The updated identity was implemented across 15 markets, helping create a more coherent and recognisable visual presence throughout Europe.
While the brand itself has continued to evolve over time, the project established a scalable foundation that supported Danske Bank’s transition into a more digitally focused and internationally aligned organisation.
