From Airfield to Innovation District

Switzerland Innovation Park Zurich is transforming the historic Dübendorf airfield into a new hub for research and development.

In collaboration with EFFEKT Architects and Arthesia, a shared foundation connects architecture, landscape, and communication across the site.

A unified visual and spatial identity system structured to operate across the entire district.

Built into the Landscape

The identity is embedded directly in the physical environment.

Principles for colour, material, signage, and spatial hierarchy enable consistent navigation and communication across the site.

Historic airfield references – translated into patterns, markings, and colour systems – establish a contemporary identity that can scale with the development.

Designed for a Living Site

The system unfolds across buildings, infrastructure, and open landscapes as the site develops in phases.

From wayfinding and lighting to integrated communication and installations, the identity supports both orientation and experience.

Developed in collaboration with EFFEKT, Arthesia, and the wider planning team, it provides a shared framework for long-term use.

Clarity across the District

A coherent spatial identity connecting history, infrastructure, and innovation.

A flexible framework enabling IPZ to grow with clarity, consistency, and precision.
