Building Trust Through a Unified Banking Identity
As Denmark’s fourth-largest bank, Sydbank faced the challenge of operating within an increasingly competitive financial market while bringing together multiple business units under a stronger and more coherent corporate identity.
The ambition was to modernise the bank’s visual presence while reinforcing a position built around trust, openness, and long-term customer relationships. Rather than communicating distance or corporate formality, Sydbank sought to present itself as a warm, approachable, and trustworthy financial institution.
LOOP Associates was commissioned to develop and implement a fully integrated corporate visual identity capable of supporting this transition across all customer and stakeholder touchpoints.

Modernising the Core Identity System
The collaboration included a complete redesign of the bank’s central visual assets, beginning with the corporate logo and extending into a broader identity system designed for both physical and digital environments.
LOOP Associates developed:
- a redesigned corporate logo
- signage systems
- credit card design
- website design principles
- printed communication materials
- photography and image guidelines
- comprehensive templates and implementation tools
- merchandising and marketing materials
The project also included the development of design standards, image banks, and best-practice systems to support long-term consistency across the organisation.

Creating a Contemporary and Human Banking Experience
The objective was not simply visual modernisation, but the creation of a more coherent and recognisable customer experience across all channels and platforms.
The updated identity balanced clarity, professionalism, and accessibility while helping differentiate Sydbank within a highly standardised banking sector. Typography, imagery, colour systems, and communication principles were developed to support a more contemporary and human expression without compromising trust or credibility.
The result was a scalable identity system capable of functioning consistently across both corporate communication and everyday customer interaction.

A Stronger and More Distinctive Position
The final identity transformed every major aspect of Sydbank’s visual presence and established a more unified and differentiated position within the Danish banking market.
The project helped communicate Sydbank as a modern financial institution with a warm and trustworthy character while creating a cohesive framework capable of supporting the organisation across future platforms, services, and communication needs.
